I’m Shane Fleming. I’m a Senior Creative Director with 20+ years experience at some of the biggest players in the Bay Area, including Goodby Silverstein, Facebook and Argonaut.
I trained as a meticulous and craft-obsessed Art Director (I can spot an errant kern at 1000 yards) and I’ve brought the same focus and attention to my leadership roles. I’ve led big and small teams with empathy and creativity. Developed the client relationships needed to run major accounts, and put in the rigor and energy to win multiple pitches.

My experience on both the brand and agency side has given me a very sharp understanding of how creativity and strategy can solve big problems and drive business results. It’s also given me a strong appreciation of the power of data to sharpen insights into provable strategies. I’ve produced everything from TikToks to multi-year brand campaigns, and I’ve won a whole bunch of awards along the way.

In the small slices of time in between, you can find me surfing, painting and wrenching on motorcycles.

I co-led one of the Bay Area’s largest accounts—AT&T’s Cricket Wireless. With $100M+ in media spending, it’s a fast-paced, high-volume account producing 8-10 FULLY integrated campaigns a year. As part of the leadership team, I helped run all aspects of the account, including guiding the business’ strategic direction, creative briefs, creative development, and production. We also led a roster of 6 agencies, providing them with the vision of each campaign. Along with mentoring 10+ creative teams, I also mentored and grew a team of designers across all aspects of visual design for Cricket.

  • The resulting work continued a growth streak of 18 consecutive quarters as the nation’s fastest-growing prepaid brand, a 20% subscriber increase, and an 8% market share increase—the largest in the category.

  • Led an exhaustive brand refresh resulting in an overall tighter brand—a clearer strategic positioning, more visually refined, and more consistent across all partner agencies, retail stores, and corporate departments.

  • Won Cricket’s Paid Social account for the agency.

I led creative on two major accounts—the Post Consumer Brands account (consisting of 3 national cereal brands),and the global MetLife account on their first global branding effort in 30 years. We set up platforms in which other regions around the world could build upon, and we executed against campaign briefs for Japan, the US, and Mexico. I co-led 2-5 creative teams on fully-integrated campaigns, overseeing all creative and production efforts.

  • Pitched & won the Post Consumer Brands account consisting of 3 national brands.

  • Honey Bunches of Oats broke records across Memorability, Brand Linkage, Breakthrough and Purchase Intent metrics, earning 4.7% growth in sales and 13 months of consecutive growth amid a declining category.

  • Made the global MetLife brand modern and relevant again—by dumping Snoopy after 30 years, introducing sharp new global positioning platforms, and a slick rebranding.

I joined Facebook to help build its new internal advertising division called “The Factory”. With the goal of establishing the tech giant’s first-ever brand advertising presence, the department was also set up to help determine if integrated advertising campaigns could help move its key metrics on raising brand sentiment.

  • Created the brand’s first fully-integrated campaign(s) that ran at massive scale in smaller global markets.

  • Surpassed key metrics on every campaign over my nearly 2 year tenure.

  • Launched the first campaign for Zuck’s passion project, internet.org, raising brand sentiment 15.5%.

I helped lead integrated campaigns on the global Cisco account, as well as the Adobe, Google, GE, and Sprint accounts. I was also fortunate enough to touch most accounts in the building during my tenure, all while under the direct tutelage of Rich Silverstein (where I learned the importance of humanity, the art of subtraction, and the power of a gut reaction).

  • Responsible for creating FOUR “World’s Firsts” in my tenure.

  • My work on GE’s “Plug into the Smart Grid” was one of Goodby Silverstein’s most awarded digital projects ever.

  • Created the first campaign for Adobe’s Marketing Analytics Software, resulting in a 45% increase in sales leads.

I helped run the pitch teams that won the Mastercard and Taco Bell accounts. Worked directly with Nick Law (CCO). I also taught the MAS Greenhouse Program.
